New Scheme for Professional Guardians

Sep 19, 2016

The Public Guardian is launching a new scheme for professional guardians who have five or more guardianship cases, which it is hoped will bring time savings and cost benefits.

Under the new scheme, the OPG will no longer undertake the traditional full annual account review on every case but will randomly sample a selection, and assuming the audits on these are 'clean' will accept the remainder with a covering one page summary sheet only.

This will markedly improve the time taken for audit and thus for remuneration to be awarded.

There will be a series of road shows, in the locations and dates below, for you to hear the detail behind the scheme at which you can ask any questions of the Public Guardian and her Deputy.

The Public Guardian will also take the opportunity to apprise you of other significant changes which are on the horizon in the adult incapacity field. These road shows are open to all professional guardians.

Dates:

  • Dundee Thursday 27 October 10.00 - 13.00
  • Aberdeen Friday 28 October 09.30 - 12.30
  • Edinburgh Monday 31 October 09.30 - 12.30
  • Glasgow Tuesday 1 November 13.30 - 16.30
