The paper outlines that the current ‘one size fits all’ application process for guardianship is in many cases overly burdensome, and adversely impacts on guardians as well as all related services.
It highlights concern about the current system and the need for review and amendment. It proposes a move to graded guardianship and suggests there be three levels; Level 1 for low value and non-contentious estates through to Level 3 for complex or contentious matters.
