EPOAR – current fault

Oct 23, 2017

There is a fault with our electronic registration facility, known as EPOAR. This has been escalated to our IT team to investigate. We are unable to give further information at the moment but will provide an update when we know more and when the fault has been resolved.

You can however to continue submit powers of attorney via the EPOAR system meantime.

We are continuing to work on EPOAR cases and to register them. You may therefore receive notification that the power of attorney has been registered.  Unfortunately, the certificate although generated is not currently accessible via EPOAR. Users may also notice that the status of a power of attorney submission has not been updated appropriately and may say ‘awaiting decision’. If a case has been registered already and the certificate is required urgently, please contact us at OPG@scotcourts.gov.uk

In the event that you have already submitted a power of attorney via EPOAR and registration needs to be expedited, please resubmit the deed using the postal service.  It is important you reconfirm that the attorney(s) are willing to act and are not currently declared bankrupt.  There is no need to enclose a cheque in respect of our registration fee as payment has already been taken online.  Owing to the technical issue, we may not be able to meet the 5 working-day turnaround times for expedited cases.

We offer our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
