Whilst the Government restrictions remain in force, both the Office of the Public Guardian, and The Mental Welfare Commission’s (MWC) offices remain closed to the public.
If you require to intimate a guardianship application on OPG, it can be sent in the normal way as we are still receiving mail, alternatively it can be emailed to opgorders@scotcourts.gov.uk
If you require to intimate a guardianship application on the MWC, please be advised that their offices are closed and they are not dealing with paper submissions of any sort.
Please do not post applications or drop them in the post box at MWC premises. Please note that Royal Mail will be securely retaining all MWC mail in the meantime, but no Recorded Delivery mail can be accepted. Given this, the MWC will only accept electronic submissions during this period, applications can be emailed to
