Attorneys have contacted us to advise that organisations e.g. banks, pension companies, Department of Work in Pensions etc. are asking for a verification code to allow their staff to access a registered Power of Attorney document online.
Please note that OPG Scotland do not provide verification codes as they are not necessary for registered Scottish Continuing and/or Welfare Powers of Attorneys.
A verification code may be required to view a Lasting Power of Attorney online but it is not required for a Scottish Continuing and/or Welfare Power of Attorney. Organisations seeking further information on verification codes or the process in Scotland please contact: opg@scotcourts.gov.uk
