Anyone can ask for a search of the public register to confirm if legal authority is in place for a person.
To help manage requests to search the public register we now have a form for individuals, financial and commercial organisations to complete.
We ask that you provide as much personal information as possible about the person who is the subject of the search. A separate form must be completed for each person.
We have a specific arrangement in place for local authorities and key partners seeking a public register search. Although this is currently
under review, local authority or NHS staff do not require to complete the form.
Please note that requests are processed in order of priority. While we aim to process these requests within five working days there may be times when it
