Our role
The Public Guardian has been given statutory powers to monitor the actions of a financial intervener. Our duty is to ensure that all financial interveners act in the best interests of an adult with incapacity and carry out their duties properly within the scope of their powers. We also maintain a public register of intervention orders granted.
In most cases you will be expected to submit a progress report of your actions on a regular basis to us. We will let you know how and when to send the report.
Further information of the range of duties of a financial intervener is available.
The Code of Practice issued by the Scottish Government provides further information and guidance about the duties of an intervener.
